Function: As a Senior HR Manager in the HR department at BIG Headquarters (HQ), you will guide and manage the HR services, policies and programs for BIG Headquarters. You will be based in Brussels, Belgium, and report to the Finance, HR & IT Director.

Primary Responsibilities:

HR Team Management

  • Serve as the primary source of HR knowledge
  • Manage, train, mentor the HR team
  • Ensure that the HR team is working in a harmonized manner with consistency

HR Strategic Planning

  • Develop an HR strategy, policies & procedures
  • Develop and implement resource planning
  • Develop & streamline processes and metrics that support the achievement of BlG's objectives

HR Administration & Compliance

  • Oversee all and manage some daily HR activities, e.g., needs assessment, recruitment, onboarding, performance management, payroll operations, compliance with all HR legal requirements, etc.
  • Originate and lead HR practices and objectives that will provide an employee-oriented, high­ quality culture that emphasizes fairness, equality, empowerment, productivity, and goal attainment
  • Coordinate the implementation of people-related services, policies, and programs in consultation with BIG's management
  • On an as needed basis liaise with external legal counsel on HR issues that require legal interpretation
  • Assist and advise line-managers about HR issues

Qualifications sought:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree
  • Minimum 10 years’ professional experience in HR
  • C2 level in English and French both spoken and written; Dutch or other languages are a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Belgian labour legislation
  • Proficiency in MS office
  • Good knowledge of Human Resources Systems
  • Good knowledge of methodologies, regulations and procedures related to HR management
  • A high level of integrity, sense of responsibility and professionalism
  • Accurate, professional and discreet processing of a high volume of correspondence and documents, often sensitive and confidential
  • Team player with strong human orientation and analytical mind-set
  • Capability and flexibility to adapt yourself in a multicultural environment and respect differences between people from a variety of linguistic and cultural backgrounds
